1,500 horsepower Hennessey Venom GT 2 confirmed

The deadly Venom GT released in 2011 will be redesigned in a new incarnation, named the Hennessey Venom GT 2. After coming at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July this year, the guys at Hennessey thought that an upgrade is better. Well, can it be made better?

The car already looks stunning, so the job at hand might be tricky. But the designers have outdone themselves with a modified exterior as well as a powered up engine for awesome race circuit performance. Talking about racing, the Hennessey Venom GT 2 will likely be the star of the show thanks to its carbon fiber body. Also, dihedral hinges for the doors coupled with carbon fiber front air intakes and a new hood with no center arches will make the car more aerodynamic. The sexy double bubble roof will provide additional headroom. That’s a bit like the Peugeot RCZ we’ve seen back in September 2012.

The headlights will be different as well. Apparently, the Lotus Elise headlights will be discontinued and Hennessey came up with a new design for the lighting setup. And they look absolutely stunning.

Big news is also the power up the Venom GT 2 received over its predecessor, the Venom GT. The 7.0-liter V8 will reportedly deliver a mindblowing 1,500 horsepower. This will make the Hennessey Venom GT 2 the most powerful production car ever. This monstrous engine will be likely mated to a 6-speed Ricardo manual gearbox or a 7-speed paddle shifter. The top speed is rumored to hover around 287 mph, making the Venom GT 2 the fastest production car ever. At least until the new 1,600 horsepower Bugatti is out. But those are just rumors…

Ford Falcon GT as a police car in Australia

After the Ferrari FF dressed up as a police car in Beverly Hills, California we have news of a new police supercar, this now ready for the Australian roads. Drivers will definitely think twice about speeding on the outback highways after seeing this beast. The hot rod police car is a modified Ford Falcon GT and it will boast an impressive 536 horsepower, that’s 87 ponies up from the 449 horsepower of the standard version. This will make the Falcon GT the fastest police cruiser ever seen on the Australian roads.

Drivers will get to see the cruiser on New South Wales roads, as the car was specially designed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the state police. The car comes with standard police features, which include a radar, number plate recognizing technology and computers connected to police database. You know it: everything a normal police cruiser should have. This modified Ford Falcon GT has a price of over $100,000 USD, but it is not sure yet whether the car will be used to catch speeding drivers. It might be used as a show car or as a demonstration vehicle. Inspector John Lipman, commander of the traffic department, said in an interview: ’’It’s about interacting with car enthusiasts and having a similar vehicle to what they would have or what they might aspire to.’’

Nevertheless, the car looks absolutely stunning and should it be used as a police cruiser, the Australian drivers have something to be afraid of.

Ford Mustang 2014 – the last chance for a classic Mustang

Ford has announced the latest Ford Mustang 2014 expected to arrive in showrooms in early 2013, just before the total overhaul expected for the 2015 model. This means that this is you last chance to snatch a classic Mustang before it gets completely redesigned with an Evos-inspired look.

The Ford Mustang 2014 will no longer feature the boring cheap looking lower body tape stripe and the rear spoiler. These will be completely redesigned to keep the sleek Mustang look in tune for the New Year. Ford has announced two new update packages which customers can choose to further customize their Mustangs. The first package, named Black Appearance Package will include black outside mirror skull caps, black deck spoiler, window louvers and 18-inch black aluminum wheels. The second package, with a FP8 as a code name, will feature as a plus a set of 19-inch black aluminum wheels.

Engine wise, the guys at Ford didn’t make any changes, with the 3.7-liter V6 still being the base powertrain for the Mustang. Other engines include the 5.0-liter V8 and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 which equips the Shelby GT500 performance version. The suspension and transmission will apparently remain the same as in the outgoing model.

Prices range from a minimum of $22,995 for the V6 Coupe, to $55,445 for the GT500 820A. Customers who are opting for the Black Appearance Package will have to add $995 to the base price.

Rumors about the Audi R10 supercar are out!

Great news is coming from the Ingolstadt giant Audi, saying that they are preparing a R10 Diesel supercar to be shown in the near future. After releasing the R8 V12 TDI concept back in 2008 at the Detroit Auto Show, Audi has tweaked with the V12 diesel engines a lot, coming with the Q7 V12 TDI back in 2010. This model is currently the only one in production and it is only available for the European markets.

Unfortunately the R8 V12 TDI was abandoned, but the idea remains. There is currently little information on the likes of the R10 Diesel but it’s safe to say that this supercar won’t feature the V12 TDI found on the Q7 as it is simply too heavy. Most likely, Audi is developing an engine that will fill all the supercar needs, be it in horsepower number or pound per feet of torque. Of course, Audi must design a new transmission for the new supercar, which will definitely be an enhanced version of the Quattro currently available on the R8.

Keep in touch for the newest rumors about the Audi R10!

Fiat 500e expected at the L.A. Auto Show

Images with the upcoming Fiat 500e were released earlier today as a preview before the L.A. Auto Show which will open its doors next year. So, the 500 family gets another sibling in the family picture. After the launch of the 500, the 500C and the 500L, Fiat considered the 500e to fill the electric car niche.

Information regarding the 500e is quite scarce, as Fiat keeps the model under a layer of mysteriousness. However, there is good news coming from the Italian manufacturer, the 500e will be a present this Sunday at the American Music Awards as a show car.

Looking at the car, it definitely shows some modifications. The designers have given the car a new lower white front grille, new wheels, underbody lip and lower side sills. On the interior the color theme is orange and white, giving a car a fresh and youthful feel.

As for the engine, the 2013 Fiat 500e will likely be powered by a 100 horsepower (75kW) and it will feature a lithium-ion battery. Financially, there are rumors that Fiat will have a deficit of $10,000 USD for each unit built and sold. Apparently, Chrysler will build this car just to meet California’s ZEV Mandate.

Ferrari FF Black and White

Ever wanted to see a Ferrari painted in police color trim? Well, look no further. Black and White Car Rental Beverly Hills took a Ferrari FF and gave it a makeover to resemble a law enforcement vehicle. Called the Ferrari FF Black and White, the car was shown at the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association Ball, held recently in L.A. This looks similar to the new Ford Falcon GT that the Australian Police recently got.

As the name implies, the car is painted in a two-tone color scheme, with black and white as the main colors. True to the police look in the Beverly Hills area, the doors are painted white, and the guys at the rental company even added a police logo on the side doors.

Black and White Car Rental is definitely the only company where customers can choose a Ferrari FF for rent, and they made it even better, with this extraordinary color scheme. The car is also equipped with Forgiato red painted wheels to add a little aggressiveness to the already awesome 6.3 liters V12 Ferrari which provides 660 horsepower. These are the standard specs, as the engine and transmission was not modified, but that is still a lot of muscle to flaunt around. Especially when your car looks like Robocop’s car… Or would you prefer the glass roofed Ferrari FF?
